CHALLENGE
The owner of this landfill required additional capacity for municipal waste at its existing landfill located in central Pennsylvania.

SOLUTION
A 48 foot vertical expansion of the landfill was achieved by constructing a MSE Berm along the perimeter of the existing landfill.

VALUE
Pinnacle Design/Build constructed the MSE Berm reinforced with Tensar geogrids to create the additional air space needed for the additional solid waste capacity. The MSE Berm utilized a green facing that will blend with the surrounding vegetation and provide a “green solution”.
