LONG BRIDGE PARK
ARLINGTON, VA

CHALLENGE
Arlington, VA needed a new, high quality recreational development linking the urban areas of Arlington with the riverscape of the Potomac River. The plans for the park required retaining walls and steepened slopes to support the fills for a 2,300ft long elevated esplanade walkway, turfed atheletic fields, and rain gardens.

SOLUTION
Pinnacle Design/Build’s experienced construction crews and management team worked with the recreational development team to design and construct a 20 foot tall, 60,267 square foot back to back natural stone faced geogrid reinforced slope and wire faced MSE Retaining Wall for the elevated esplanade walkway. Landscaped geogrid reinforced slopes were utilized in the park’s rain gardens.
