MONTAGE DEER VALLEY RESORT
PARK CITY, UTAH
CHALLENGE
The developer of the alpine ski resort and residences nestled in the Wasatch Mountains was faced with the challenges of the additional structural loading from seismic events. The project engineering team developed a design concept that utilized the SierraScape Retaining Wall System to create a “seismic gap” to prevent additional loading onto the building’s reinforced concrete core.
SOLUTION
Pinnacle Design/Build constructed the SierraScape retaining walls along the perimeter of the building that abutted the mountains.
VALUE
The Pinnacle Design/Build team designed and constructed all the retaining walls, through the summer months and winter snow, within the allowed construction budget and time. The final result is a first class resort with top notch retaining walls.
