CHALLENGE
The owner of this landfill required additional capacity for municipal waste at its existing landfill located in central Massachusetts.

SOLUTION
A 45-foot vertical expansion of the landfill was achieved by constructing MSE Vegetated Retaining Walls along the perimeter of the existing landfill.

VALUE
Pinnacle Design/Build constructed the MSE Vegetated Retaining Walls reinforced with Tensar geogrids and utilized a green facing that will blend with the surrounding vegetation and provide a “green solution”. The landfill’s capacity was increased, allowing extended operational time for the faciity.
